King of the Mountain Trail Race 2024

Join Skeena Valley Runners for the annual running of the King of the Mountain trail race (est. 1977).
Date: Saturday, July 13th, 2024
Bib number pick-up and race day sign up (add $5.00): 8:30-9:30 am
Race start: 10 am
Community Partner: 50% of proceeds will be donated to Terrace Search and Rescue.
Awards:
Awards will be presented immediately following the race. Awards to top male and female finishers in the categories: under 20, 20-39 and 40+.
The fastest female and male participant will get their name inscribed on the King of the Mountain trophy.
All finishers receive a King of the Mountain 2024 Finisher medal.
Course:
The 9 km race starts at the Terrace Sportsplex and heads up Park Avenue to the Walsh Avenue Terrace Mountain trail head. Participants complete a counter-clockwise Flathead trail loop on Terrace Mountain, taking in majestic views of the Skeena and Kitimat River Valleys and surrounding mountains, before running down Park Avenue to the finish at the Terrace Sportsplex.
No course cutting is allowed. This is to minimize trail damage and provide a level playing field to all competitors. Cutting the course will result in disqualification.
Waiver:
The responsibility for Sport Safety must be shared by all. I am aware that there is a certain risk of injury involved in my own or my child’s participation in Sport, either while travelling to or from the event, or while attending or participating in the programs or activities of the events which are sanctioned/approved by B.C. Athletics, its Divisions, its member Clubs or societies. It is understood by me that the signing of this document is intended to indicate that on behalf of myself and/or my child, I grant permission to Skeena Valley Runners and affiliates to use my name and likeness in photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record for legitimate promotional purposes for the club.
